Describe Yourself:I am a child of the 70's raised in a small Village in Southern Illinois. Muddy was a great place to grow up! Big enough that allowed my brother, sister, and I to ride our bikes, swim, climb trees, explore the old coal mine sites, pick blueberries and strawberries, visit Aunts, Uncles, and Grandma; but small enough that when we heard the bell that Mom sounded, we scurried home to wash up for supper. Sounds like Walton's Mountain, only nestled in the Shawnee Hills of the Ozark Mountains. When speeding along the country roads,my car kicked up so much dust, it bothered the cattle. I spent most of my Junior and Senior years grounded for that offense! And, so I spent most of the time grounded, reading or playing music in my room or the old doll house by the dogs' pen. We kept our doors unlocked until I went down South to attend Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, because the Nearest town to Muddy had both a ROBBERY and a MURDER! Ooooooooo!
After graduating with a B.A. in Communication Arts in 1980 I spent 8 years in Mobile working in Broadcast Journalism at WKRG covering everything from the Miss Teen America Telecast to Mardi Gras. (Mobile, not New Orleans, started the celebration.) I also produced and edited a Newscast for children that aired on the weekend prior to moving to Birmingham to become a Federal Civil Civil Servant. While in Birmingham, I lived on the Southside which may explain my eclectic taste in Books and Music. (Mystery, Grafton, Ruth Rendell, Barbara Vine, Elizabeth George, Cromwell, James Lee Burke, Ian Rankin, etc., Thrillers-Thor, Vince Flynn W E B Griffin, Michael Connelly, Steve Martini, S King, Bentley Little etc., Vintage Crime-Hammett, Barnoness James, Christie, Chandler, etc., Literary-Shreve, Atwood, Phillpa Gregory, Oates, Bronte, De Maurier, Austin, etc. I adore Hemingway, what a man and author!
As a Journalist, a Writer, a Photographer, and as a Public Servant, I receive(d) both favorable and unfavorable comments on my work. I hate the Drive Bys who rate your work a 1 because they do not agree with you or your POV. I don't have too many hours to waste reading rubbish, do you?
After taking a break, my musings will focus on my late mother Eleanor Jarvis Molinarolo, foremost a teacher. We lost this amazing lady to a brain aneurysm October 20, 2006. While back in Muddy between Thanksgiving and New Years, I've started to reread Mom's favorite Mysteries, Thrillers, Classics, Literary, deliciously Dark Thrillers, and Nonfiction and packed what she had just read or was reading at the time of her untimely death and I thought it would be fun to read her Reading list and review those books in 2008. -

Jay M., Mar 21, 2008, 5:59AM EDTHello Anne,
Thanks for your offer to review my book. I just re-ordered more Bingo books for that purpose. Also, just today I approved the Galley and Cover for my 2nd book called Sal and Sally. It will be going to print and will be available very soon. By the way, Sal and Sally will be the very first book self published by Gather Community Press, and will carry their logo. Can you let me know how to get the book to you for the review? I would be happy to send you one or both.
Ness caught me at a point where I had a little spare time. She was requesting submissions for Genre Creative Romance short stories. I thought I would try my hand at that as well, so I have just submitted my "Strange Romance" story to them.
Feel free to peek at that one and give it a rating or comment review.
It's a little different from most and has a twist at the end. I mainly wrote it for fun more than anything else.
I'll try to shorten this up some. Please send me the contact mailing address for the review.
You are most kind, and I very much appreciate your assistance.
Your Friend
Jay
PS: Happy Easter! -
